Lima Airport to Miraflores: Is a Pre-Booked Transfer Worth It?
4 min read
Of the two airport transfers we list, the one with by far the most reviews is the LIM Airport Private Transfer to and from Lima City Center. It costs €9.85 per person, with 4.6 stars from 395 reviews. The page gives the trip as 1 hour and the vehicle as private, with English- and Spanish-speaking drivers.
What you get
The page says you can travel in either direction, airport to city or hotel to airport. The vehicle depends on your party size:
- 1 to 3 passengers: sedan
- 4 passengers: SUV
- 5 passengers: minivan
- 6 to 8 passengers: minibus for 8
- 9 to 14 passengers: minibus for 14
Each size allows at most one standard 22-inch bag per passenger. The page also lists the air-conditioned vehicle, all fees and taxes, and 60 minutes of free airport waiting time, counted from the time slot you choose. For hotel pickups it lists 15 minutes of waiting, if you select that option.
How to book it correctly
Two details decide whether this works.
The start time. For an international arrival, choose a slot that leaves time for immigration and customs. For a domestic flight, enter the scheduled landing time. For the return trip, the time you choose is the time you want to be picked up at the hotel.
The address. The standard rate covers the Lima city centre. For pickups or drop-offs outside it, the page says an extra fee based on the exact address applies. It does not define the city centre, and a reviewer was taken from the airport to Miraflores, so give your hotel’s address in the booking notes and confirm it is covered. The page requires a valid drop-off address for the service and treats last-minute bookings as non-refundable. Give your flight number and a phone number (the page asks for WhatsApp) so the driver can coordinate with you.
Limits
The page does not allow oversize luggage. If your bags exceed the vehicle’s capacity, the page lists a vehicle upgrade fee. Drop-off is in the city centre or at the airport; for any other address the page adds an extra fee.
Traffic is the real variable. The page itself tells you to plan for it, so do not book a tight connection after the ride.
The transfer named for Miraflores and Barranco
The second transfer we list, the Airport Private Transfer to/from Miraflores & Barranco, answers the address question in its description: it drives between the airport and your accommodation in Miraflores or Barranco. It costs €44.86 per person. The page says the team tracks your flight and the driver waits at the airport with a name sign, lists the driver’s language as Spanish only, and counts one piece of luggage per person. Number of reviews so far: 1.
When to skip it
If you land at an hour when you do not mind a taxi queue, or you travel light and alone, you can decide at the airport. If you arrive late, with children or with heavy bags, a driver booked in advance spares you the negotiation. A reviewer says the driver arrived early and drove them safely through busy roads.
